In case you were not able to join us this past Sunday (September 18), here are a few important things we covered.
First and foremost, we want everyone to know that we are living out “Connecting People to Christ’s Love.” We are actively taking steps to live this out. We are moving the “ball” forward. Here is our “1 year” (July 1, 2017) milestone:
We will magnify Connecting People to Christ’s Love like never before as if its the most important event in one’s life. Our Connectors of Welcome, Worship, Grow, and Serve will be created to accomplish the highest degree of mission impact and led by trained teams of volunteers solely focused upon Connecting People To Christ’s Love.
We are “Connecting People to Christ’s Love” because of who we are, our values. So we will be focusing in one these throughout the rest of this year:
- Genuinely Welcoming (Sep 25 – Oct 16)
- Generously Giving (Oct 23 – Nov 20)
- Graciously Relating (Dec 4-25) – Christmas Eve!
- Gloriously Praising (Jan)
We seek to live out “Connecting People to Christ’s Love” through our “connectors” of Welcome, Worship, Grow and Serve. So we will be forming Leadership Teams around these:
- Welcome Leadership Team (in place by December)
- Worship Leadership Team (meeting now)
- Grow Leadership Team (meeting now)
- Serve Leadership Team (in place by Easter)
We believe there is a life, a life in Christ, that is known only by His love.
However, God is rich in mercy. He brought us to life with Christ while we were dead as a result of those things that we did wrong. He did this because of the great love that he has for us. You are saved by God’s grace! (Ephesians 2:4-5)
We believe when this love is known, it changes you.
9 “As the Father loved me, I too have loved you. Remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. 11 I have said these things to you so that my joy will be in you and your joy will be complete. 12 This is my commandment: love each other just as I have loved you. (John 15:9-12)
We are only beginning this journey here of “Connecting People to Christ’s Love.” We may get this more right on some days than other days. We are learning and growing together. Most importantly though, we are living it out.
Blessings,
Pastor Matt
