This past Saturday was a wonderful day of engaging and connecting with the people in our community at Barnitz Church’s First Annual Children’s Fishing Derby. Around 65 children and their families came out bright and early to enjoy a fun-filled day of fishing, food, and fellowship on the banks of the Yellow Breeches Creek at Barnitz UMC. Many beautiful trout were reeled in by kids in age groups 0 to 7 and 8 to 12, with several tagged prize fish caught as well. The kids and adults alike enjoyed a great day of fishing, and it was truly a blessed time of connecting with each other.
We are already planning and looking forward to next year’s fishing derby!
